2015 Silverado 4x4 3500  with 373 gears. Would like to change to 410 gears. My dealer said they wouldn't do the swap. Couldn't make computer work with swap.

that's odd... you can do whatever to your axles itll just throw off the speedometer until you get the tuning done

That's why GM would say they can't do it... your speedometer and your shift pattern will be out to lunch and they can't do anything about.

Being a Duramax or a 6 liter is irrelevant... it's a 2015 and you can make the changes on either platform.

6.0's are available with 3.73 and with 4.10 -- at least in the fleet trucks, so it is relevant whether it's 6.0/6.6, and if it's srw, for that matter.

This applies to both the L96 and the LC8 versions of the 6.0.

Normal consumer/retail 3500 srw isn't (anymore) offered with 3.73, so the truck is either a 6.0 fleet that could have either, or a it's 6.6 / 3.73 that GM doesn't support changing to 4.10.

Late models 6.6's all have the Allison and only the 3.73.

(Not sure about the LB7 and maybe LLY).

What engine do you have and what kind of truck?

He asked about swapping his gears to 4.10 from 3.73 and whether he can do it.  Nowhere in there is he asking what guys opinions on doing the swap is... so its irrelevant.

Engine is still relevant.

If it's a 6,0, the dealer should be able to do it, and use the factory 4.10 calibration.

He posted the wouldn't, not they couldn't, and needs to see another dealer.

(or another service adviser, since sometimes they have incorrect info, or have encountered this request)

If it's a 6.6, there is no GM calibration available for 4.10., so can't would have been the correct response.

I had/have ZERO opinion on whether he should or shouldn't change.

They probably can't.  Any person that does custom tuning on the other hand can with no issue.

thank you
