2018 Crew cab Sub box and backseat mod

Looking for someone who has used a sub box with 12" subs under the seat of their 2018 crew cab.

Is everything the same from 2014-2018?

I have my own shallow mount subs already so I am just looking for a empty box.

Also, does the mod for folding down the rear seat back work on the 2018's as well?

How does that work specifically? anyone have a video of it working?

Thanks!

I only know on 15 personally and I added an in leg to the bottom of my down firing box to allow for a somewhat regular sub. I’m told 14-18 are the same and even with the added in the back seat still clips fine.

Because you have to lift front part of seat to disengage the back it works fine

I got my empty sub box at subthump.com...built it for what I wanted....solid build, some custom options, priced fairly, and timely deliverly. I can't complain had it now for 1 1/2 years.

Did not make a folding seat...Added my amp and LC2i under the driver side of the backseat (fully under the seat near the back wall). I added the amp at an angle that matches the folding seat drop so I can make adjustments as needed without seat needing anything but raising the bottom portion of the seat. Has been working great. Good luck on finding your sound.

Added bass knob as well to adjust while driving. Makes it super easy to adjust.

im looking to install this box in my 15. I thinks there’s enough space for my amp right in the middle behind the box with a LC2i. If not I’ll mount the amp to the back wall of the cab with some wood. I haven’t seen anybody with this box so I’m a little worried. I don’t understand why the port hole is so small. The air space is not enough for the subs I want to get. 10 inch Kicker comps RT 43cwrt102. After talking with Crutchfield they said to use this https://www.crutchfield.com/p_027808/Polyester-Fiber-Stuffing-1-pound-pack.html?search=polyester_fiber_stuffing&skipvs=T

they said it will help with air space issues. Anybody run into this problem?

If you are serious about doing audio upgrades I would jump over to a dedicated car audio forum. You’ll find advice for boxes, your vehicle, and equipment choices. It will get you a better install and save you money! (Unless you fall down the rabbit hole lol)

Yeah I can do that but knowing this forum I know there’s a lot of great minds here.

I really like the idea of a bass knob. Where did you put yours?

Do I need the LC2i if I am using a aftermarket radio?

Thanks.

You can put a bass knob anywhere. I seen pics of people putting right next to the USB ports in the center console and where I’m going to put mine on the side of the center console where u can put paper or what ever u can fit in there.

if you have a after market radio then you wouldn’t need to use the LC2I. After market radios will come with the outlets you can plug into your amp.

My bass knob is in the map holder area on the side of the console. I hid it under the top lip of the map/paper holder. It conceals the knob completely but I can access it while driving as well.

I don't think you would necessarily need a lc2i depending upon the aftermarket radio having a pre-amp output. But also not sure what your bass knob options would be either with the aftermarket head unit. Again all of this may be dependent upon the options offered as part of the head unit. Good luck.

I had the audio guy put my bass knob under the dash almost where your right knee would be, easy access if you need to adjust bass.

If you still need one I have a dual 12" sub enclosure that is big enough to hold 2 Alpine Type R subs. So it at least clears those specs. It looks similar to one of the Q-Power enclosures. It has the black spray truck bed cover or bed liner on it... I think it's Line-X or Ryno liner. It is a Ported box as well. I bought it new from a friend who owns a shop. Anyway, let me know and I can shoot eone pics. I need to sell it because I am upgrading and raised my seat 3" to put new equipment in.
