Ok internet wisdom. I just bought a used 2002 Tahoe. And I have no idea what this is. Any thoughts?

Get rid of it now. Unless your in contract on truck. Looks like a antenna for tracking, or remote shut down I would follow wire to source and find out.

It looks like the add on (aftermarket) satellite antenna of that era (2002), or what 1 Slow 1500 said.

If that is intended to be a satellite radio antenna, it isn't gonna work well if at all inside the vehicle.

Cut that thing out of there.

Yup, and follow the wire to what it's connected to, you probably want to disconnect & remove that as well.

 

You may want to follow the wire to the controlling unit, and figure out what it is first, there's a small chance it could be something useful.
