Does your parking assists trigger from water?

The dealer is working out some issues with my front collision alert and lane departure warning.  Unrelated to the  higher speed LDW and FCA, they talked about replacing the parking assist module but did not tell me why. Just that they were waiting on a response from GM engineers.

I have noticed that the parking assist has triggered a few times when there is nothing in front of me. I think both times after a rain. The last time was pulling up to a stop sign and its possible rain around out of grill/headlight and onto sensor.

Is this common for water to trip the sensors.? Something I thought was odd was the right front was the one that triggered but reasonably sure it vibrated the left seat only.   Not even sure if the parking assist on the front is directional and should do left/right seat when it detects it on the sides.

Mine did it under the exact conditions.  Dealer first said there was nothing wrong with it or "unable to duplicate problem."  Next time it happened I took a quick video with my iPhone.  Once they saw it they agreed to troubleshoot again.  The second time they replaced a bad sensor in the front bumper.  Hasn't done it again since.

Well I might need a front sensor. Will try to catch it on video.

Bad part is sensor replacement requires them to be painted on trucks with painted bumpers. Always a pain on pearl trucks.

Yes happens all the time. Not worth the hassle to have replaced when odds are the new ones will behave the same way. Not a huge deal to me

Yea I talked to a good friend that is a GM certified mechanic and he drives an 2018 Z71.  He said same thing.

I am going to leave it alone.
