No phone ring while XM

Tried searching the forum and google as well as android forums..

Have a 2014 silverado lt paired with Samsung galaxy s8. It works fine as long as I am in the phone source.

If I am in another, which I use XM primarily, no phone ring. I don't remember if the display shows incoming calls, but anyhow is there a setting for the incoming to call to actually ring through car stereo? So I dont have to constantly check the display. Phone itself does not ring since it acknowledges bluetooth connection.

Thanks in advance.

Under Settings > Bluetooth > Ringtone are ringtone options. See what you have configured there.

Also, starting with Android v 8.0, in-band Bluetooth Ringtone support is finally added. This means the phone's ringtone can be played through the headset, rather than no ringtone or the headsets manufacturers custom ringtone (in this case instead of a headset it is the head unit)

I do have the in-band ringtone set on the Android. I will have to check the vehicle setting. I don't remember seeing RIngtone as an option under the setting, but I will check again.

Thanks,

I had to pick one of the default ringtones of the stereo instead of letting it ring my cellphone's ringtone for this to work as I mentioned in the OP.
