EGR Delete question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2016 Duramax. I have been thinking of adding the block off plates. If I do this do I need or have  to do a tune?

Can someone with Diesel experience please help me out with this one?

go to duramaxforum.com and inquire there, many are running deletes.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to run a bypass on the EGR?

By the way, here is how Hudson would run a  bypass:

that's exactly how I was going to do it. LOL

I have been looking into this a lot because I want to do an exhaust/DEF/DPF delete and the same block off plates for snappier performance/better fuel mileage. As far as I have found you will need a programmer with the EGR delete because of the temperature and pressure sensors. I'm no expert but all sources say a programmer is required for most crucial changes to the duramax engine. I would check the duramax forum like previously stated since you only want to do EGR delete and not a full exhaust delete.

yes you will need to tune out EGR when you do the deletes to rid yourself of codes and errors there are programmers on the market EFI Live is a big one
