z71tx Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Hello all. Couple weeks ago I drove through a puddle that was apparently deep enough to fry my power steering (rack and pinion). I bought a used one and it fixed my power steering but the steering wheel won’t center on its own. Anyone know if this is a programming issue? Or should I buy a brand new rack. Thanks
BigBadSierra Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Needs to go to the dealer they have to set the position in the computer.
tnchevy Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Must have been something more going on with your truck for a puddle to do that! We have a dozen or so 14+ models in our fleet at work and we drive through creeks deep enough that water comes in through the door and never had the power steering short out from water damage.

Thanks The dealership can easily fix the steering wheel into the straight position. I had my steering box replaced and brought it back cause of the same issue and took them only 20 minutes max to make it up right and straight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hopefully this will fix the issue.
