Hey, Pewterliftedz...  I'd love an update on your lift kit now that you've been running it for a couple months. Still no problems?  I am trying to decide between the RC and superlift too.

 

...one specific question.... How is the clearance between the lower control arm and the CV axle boot???? I don't see any daylight between the 2 in your picture... Does it touch at full droop or anywhere in between?

Lift kit is working great, I don't have any issues with it at all.  I'm actually looking into getting Eibach lift springs to combine with my bilstein 5100 shocks to replace the spacer.  I don't think I'm having any rubbing issues, but I'll jump under the truck and check it out when I get a chance.

Im happy with my lift honestly , the only regret i have is nor going with a taller lift kit ?

Haha I know what you mean man, I'm tempted to just increase the 5100s up a notch to get a little more height.

I love the look of my truck dont get me wrong , but driving down the road and seeing the same truck in a 5 or 6 in lift running 35s looks so bad ass . I’ll make the decision when my tires get worn in the next 5 years lol and see if i would go taller and just slap some 35s  as well. Also i put back the ORM rancho shocks in the rear , rides little better in the back. You have a really good setup with those shocks too. I just checked my cv boot looks good as new ??

I decided to go with the RCX 3.5" knuckle kit because of the timing of things. I leave for Big Bend National Park Monday morning. The Super Lift would have arrived sometime next week about halfway through my trip.

 

Angles look pretty good to me, but I'm no suspension expert. Lower ball joint clearly has the most "angle", but it looks like it has plenty range of motion left. CV axle looks great and there's plenty of space below it for articulation. 

 

I will say, I didn't buy RCX struts. I hope to slap some bielstiens (maybe something else) in there and the back too. This is my first lifted truck and I'm very happy with it on day one. The ride is definitely harsher, but I'm hoping the bielstiens will bring it back closer to stock ride quality.

The kit was $500 and the install was $700.  There is some, but minimal cutting involved in the installation.  

 

According to Rough Country, when running the stock 20x9 +27 wheels you must use 1/4" wheel spacers or the tires will allegedly rub the control arms. I did not verify that. 

 

I did add 1/4" wheel spacers essentially making the tire and wheel package "fit" as 20x9 +21 wheels. Obviously, the stock 275/55r20 Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires fit just fine with days of clearance all around.

 

I'm currently sitting at Discount Tire getting 33/12.5r20 (approximately 317/50r20) Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed.  These are slightly larger than Rough Country's recommended MAXIMUM tire size, 285/55r20 (32.3/11.2r20)

 

I'll update y'all on any clearance issues when I'm done here.

Discount tire wouldn't reinstall the quarter inch spacers because they weren't bolt on type...  They said the lugs were "shortened" with the sandwich in spacers. No hard feelings, gives me an opportunity to check tire clearance without the spacers. 

 

No spacers on stock 20x9 +27 wheels, tires rub the upper control arms in the front. Loose about 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn of the wheel with the tires I selected. 

 

Since I had to take the wheels off anyway,  i decided to see what 1.5" spacers would look like. Turns out they look great!  They rub the tiniest bit on the plastic behind the front wheels at full crank. I figure I can snip the plastic back just past the screw and run a screw into the fender liner to hold it back. Should give plenty of clearance for articulation under full crank.

How's everyone's lifts doing? I bought a 2018 Sierra about three weeks ago and have been looking into lifts pretty much ever since. Too much to decide on! I'm on a budget, but I'm willing to wait if something will last longer without needing repair. Thanks!

Love the lift , spent the money bought the RC shocks. Hate the shocks going back to factory with the Ranchos and blocks. Besides thats awesome lift for the money

I decided to change up my Superlift kit, got rid of the front lift spacers for Bilstein shocks and Eibach 2.5" lift springs.  The control arms and diff drop still work great, it's a great kit that is very well put together.  Here is what I did to modify my kit if you're interested.
