Tonneau cover help

So I was reinstalling my soft trifold tonneau cover (Tyger Auto) and accidentally over tightened one of the latches that holds it in place towards the front of the bed. There was a loud pop and now the handle turns but does not turn the screw to tighten or loosen the latch. I'm going to have to remove it using a wrench but I'm wondering if this piece can be fixed or if I need a new latching mechanism? Any help is much appreciated. Hopefully I don't have to buy a new cover or an expensive part because of my dumb mistake.

Your just gonna have to take the cover off and look at it. Posting a pic might help us help you.

Thank you for the reply! i ended up getting the latch off and inspecting it but nothing appears broken, it seems to tighten and loosen as normal once I re-installed it. I guess I got freaked out by the loud pop when I overtightened it but I must have not really damaged any of the parts too bad. Note to self: better to not tighten enough than to over tighten, especially with cheap metal and plastic parts.
