how often do you guys recomend flushing the power steering fluid and brake fluid? my truck only has 33,000 miles on it and the service guy is totally buging me being a pain in the a$$ salesman. also, is it hard to do it yourself?

a good point: he said my brake pads are only like 10% worn, and thats after 33k miles and it has to stop w/ the 36" tires

I'll dip brake fluid and suck power steering fluid just whenever I am bored. Got 23000 miles on my truck now and havent done it yet. Will prolly do it around 50,000 unless I change brakes before then and the bleeding will get rid of some of the fluid. Someone will prolly know exactly when!

Actually just thought you prolly have to keep bleeding the brakes or something cuz the master cylinder on the newer trucks is different than the old one which had the large lid. Probably cant dip the fluid out of this ne type!

I exchange the brake and powersteering fluids on all my cars every two yeas. For the brakes I use one of those mytivac vacuum pumps. Takes only a minute or so to draw fresh fluid thru each line.
