Through experiences like yours, I've concluded long ago that a full sized 1/2 ton pickup is the best choice for a daily driver.  Every time the smaller vehicle or money saving bug has pulled me away, I've come back!  Last week, I was helping a relative shop for a SUV.  Some of them are very, very tempting!  However, climbing back into my pickup after  days of test driving the "latest and greatest" confirmed that they're not pulling me out of my pickup!(yet)
