New 2500 HD

I used to own a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation with the 5.3 with a BDS 6” lift, Rockstar Wheels and 35” Toyo tire’s.  

It was nice but I wanted something better. 

In August Chevy was offering some nice incentives and I took advantage of them and traded the 2017 for a brand new 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD diesel crew cab with a 6’6” box. 

I have the LTZ with the LTZ Plus option along with pretty much every other option available.   Z71 off road package, dual alternators, high idle switch, 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package, front and rear park assist, driver alert package, power folding tow mirrors, roof marker lights, sunroof, sliding rear window, Bose stereo, navigation and Deep Ocean Blue metallic paint.  

So far I’ve put about 1300 miles on it.   It went into regen mode once. 

I absolutely love driving this a lot more than my old truck.   A couple of things I like about the 2018 over the 2017 1500 is the bigger fuel tank and GM has fixed the annoying backup camera.   At night the screen was so bright on the 2017 it would blind me. The 2018 is now dimmed down to the correct brightness level.  

One question to finish this post.  When I went looking for my truck I only wanted one in either Bright Red or Deep Ocean Blue.  At all the dealers I went to all the trucks were either black or white.   Why are the majority of trucks black or white ??

The dealer that I bought my truck from found it at another dealer over 700 miles away....

Not sure on the colors other than maybe over the years the general public likes white or black so they are very popular so more get ordered to sit on the lots.

You've likely 'missed' the other regens it did.

 

They seem to run about 400 miles (or less) on the L5P.

OTOH, they don't last as long as on the previous version (LML).
