Starter/ bell housing noise

2013 Silverado 5.3. Metal on metal noise coming from the bell housing/ starter area.  Use a scope all around the bottom of the motor only heard the sound coming from the starter. Noise is at ideal and while driving but not all the time. If the front of the truck is lower then the back the noise will go away. Does not speed up with rpms. Any help would be great!

Starter pintel return spring is broken? Pintel is only partially withdrawn and could be scraping against fly wheel. Tilting forward allows for gravity assist to withdraw further while tilting back allows it fall into the flywheel.
