2002 GMC Radio/MP3 question

a buddy of mine has a 2002 GMC 2500HD and is having problems with the stock radio setup.

 

What he wants to know is how many mp3's can be placed on a single disc and recognized by the receiver? The receiver plays mp3's but on some discs it just gives errors. He was just wondering what the max is on the radio, gm doesn't seem to know.

Factory head units will not play MP3s.

 

They will play your burned CDs though, and I can usually get around 70 minutes of Music on there.

Yeah i didnt think the stockers could play mp3's either.

 

 

You can get about 150 more or less on a CD (depending on bitrate)

I get around 140 with a bitrate of 160 and up
