I’ve been hearing a clunk noise every time I hit bumps or slowly just rolling I checked suspension everything is tight now I checked inside cab and noticed steering shaft going from cab into engine fire wall has motion goes up and down a bit if you push with your fingers and makes a clunk noise is this normal? If any of you guys could check would greatly appreciate it my truck is a 2016 silverado 1500 with tilt steering

If you have Factory Ranchos, they are known to clunk and give out, especially around 50k or less.

Mine did.

Bilstein 5100s on now and what a difference!

Could be your leaf springs. There is a thread about that as well.

Hi, Julio. If you’re thinking about visiting your servicing GM dealership about your suspension concern, we would be happy to work alongside them, to provide an additional layer of support. We hope to hear from you soon.

I’d try the fix on page 3 of this thread before dealing with the Stealership if you believe the noise is coming from the rear but that’s me.

I tried going to dealer but since my struts and shocks are aftermarket they did not want to investigate any further
