Jersey Tahoe LT Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 Well a good buddy of mine just bought a brand new Dodge 2500 Hemi. He took me for a ride and all I can say is wow. That low end tourque that I have read isn't there must be false or he just lucked out. Without even trying he was able to light up the rear tires for about 100 feet. And the ride and handling isn't that bad for a full size truck. I give it 2 thumbs up. He used to have a Dakota no problems with it and I know a lot of others in the area that have Dodge trucks and they have not had any major problems like everyone says happens. Now I am sure they are all lucky but they also really take care of them. Just wanted to throw my input on them. And I am sure that his truck would squash my Hoe in a heart beat. Later, Brandon
CMNTMXR81 Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 Gear ratios in the transmission and rear end can do an effective job at making up for engines lacking sufficient torque to move sufficient mass.
trckn4life Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 you have any more details or pics of his dodge?
Jersey Tahoe LT Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 Not yet. All I know is it is the 2500, stripped No power anything. He got it at a great price just don't remember off hand. It is a White 4 Door small box with the Marker lights on top. With the base steel 17" wheels and 245/70/17's It definatly needs some work to make it pretty. (Like putting a chevy body on it ) But it is nice. I will try to get pics for you guys soon. Maybe one of a burnout as well. Later, Brandon
HillHound Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Does he do any towing with it? They're fast unloaded but in my experience they get winded easily with any kind of trailer behind them.
Jersey Tahoe LT Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 No heavy towing. Just a row boat. He just loves the truck. really has no use for it.
SnakeEyeSS Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Sounds like he sould have gotten a loaded 1500 Hemi for the same price?
