DOD delete done by tuner will oil pressure be to high?

Got a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3 AFM (non flex). If a tuner is used to disable the DOD - will the oil pressure be to high I read something on that needed some clearification. Would you need to do the DOD Delete KIT prior to this?

 

Any help/explanations would be great.

Should not change oil pressure.

It's your oil pump that controls the oil pressure (in a healthy engine).  So turning off AFM will not affect anything.  On these trucks, AFM is off 80-90% of the time anyway even when active, the motors just do not make enough horsepower to run around on 4 cylinders unless coasting or going downhill for the most part.

AFM engines ( and more or less all Gen IV's) have a secondary relief valve above the oil filter in the oil pan.  It looks like a little cheapie PSV off your household air compressor and is exactly that in function.  It's set to be basically open at 55 psi and thus limiting the oil pressure to below 60 pounds.  The oil pump itself does have an internal relief as they all do but this secondary one opens before the one in the pump would.  Your oil pressure will remain the same as it has always been.
