Simple Fuel Cap

Snug fit should be fine on these (and probably preferred), as there should be no venting done through the filler neck.   Any venting should be done through the purge/charcoal canister.   Venting out the neck would be an EPA violation as far as I remember.

Alright smart guy! You know I believe you’re absolutely right lol!! Thanks for reminding me of that ? seriously, I didn’t even think about that. The PVC cap does fit snug but not super tight. Much better than the bare flapper.

So got mine done. Apparently the 2017's are bigger. Took a 2 3/8ths cover. Not Crimson tint coat but its the color I had on hand. Drilled some small holes all around to vent.

Told my co-worker and he did one for his 2018 Black Silverado ? same PVC cap I have just shot a little gloss black on it.

I was going to do a combination of these two for mine, rough up the cap, spray it with PlastiDip (Black), drill some tiny vent holes, and then put it to use.  I went to Lowe's today, while the wife's CR-V was being serviced, and couldn't find it.  Going to Karl's Hardware, on my way to work tomorrow and get it.  Hopefully, I'll have it done soon, within next couple weeks.

I was going to drill mine too until it was pointed out they don’t need to vent. Either way, it fits snug NOT tight. It won’t rattle around even on washboard dirt roads but it will pull off with only a slight pull, it’s like it was made for it by design ??
