Routing Coaxial Cable

When I install my CB, I'd like to route my cable to come up to the top of the door ring trim. Has anyone done this? Does this cause any water leaks where the cable is against the weatherstripping?

I've seen trucks where the coax just drops down between the cab & box. I assume they've drilled a hole to get the wire into the cab.

I did that with my blazer. I just brought it down the driver door under the weather stripping. and then found a place where it wouldn't bind on anything and brought it in the cab. Just make sure it doesn't pinch on anything and you should be fine. I didn't have any leaking and the cable has never torn or anything so it should be ok. Atleast it was in my experience.

Good luck

Thats exactly how I did it, I ran it over the weather stripping, and into the little triangle fuse panel on the side of the dash. No leaks or anything, works perfect. No holes drilled!

There are also vents in the back wall of you cab.

Look between the box and cab and you can see them.

I just run my wires for my strobe out thru the weatherstrip

tho. But they are like 10 ga. wires not big like coax......geo

I put mine out through the vent in the back of the cab. There are felt strips in the vend much like the dryer vent on the side of your house. I got the coax to go out through the bottom one. The cable comes in throught a plastic housing under the seat, then I ran it along the edge of the doors under the threshold. All nicely hidden. My antenna is in the stake box pocket directly behind the cab.
