Considering selling Duramax and getting a Yukon XL 2500

It was ratty, had an airbag light showing. No way am I driving a car with an airbag light.

 

New idea- looking at Denali XL w/ 6.2

 

Has more power, more of them around.

If you consider a 2500, get the 2008+ as they have the 6-speed transmission and a higher towing capacity with 3.73 gears.  The 2010+ with the L96 are FlexFuel engines so you can run varying grades of ethanol for more power and saving on fuel costs if the price is right.  As you know, the 2500 chassis is a beast and much more durable than the 1500s.  FYI, the GMT900 SUV 2500s did not use the new 3/4-ton chassis introduced in 2011, so you have to use the older lug pattern if looking for new wheels. 2008+ also have 1410 u-joints out back.

 

Seen your last post where you are considering a Denali.  Yeah, more power but less durable.  2009 with L9H makes 403 hp and does not have AFM.  2010+ have AFM which you can turn off and or delete from the motor.  There's a number of other things to consider and you may want to ask away over at the TahoeYukon forum.  

 

AWD is not the same as 4WD.

The FEW time I would tow would not be a big deal. The 2500's are hard to find. A 2007 Denali has the 6L80 trans and 3.42 gears. It will tow a 9000 lb boat 50 miles no problem.
