I think someone mentioned it further up in the conversation. Probably start with covering one on each side at a time. Its not hard to remove if you dont like it.

Covered my single outlet exhaust using 2.75" Exhaust sleeves (link below) on my 2020 Chevy Silverado with 5.3 V8. Here are three sound clips with stock, 2 mesh resonators covered, and 3 mesh resonators covered. I purchased the exhaust sleeves on amazon for about $10 a piece.

Here’s a video with sound clips of stock, 2 front mesh resonators covered and all 3 covered:

Does anyone know if the duals are also 2.75”?

@RST Mike thanks for the recommendation. I got them off of eBay for $7 each and covered all 6. Haven’t driven it yet to see the difference but I’m sure I’ll get a little bit more sound from it. The only thing I will say is you really have to tighten them down a lot to get it snug and the bolts are long and visible. I tried to hide it as much as possible and out of the way.

Looks good! I agree you do have to tighten down a lot and bolts are pretty long. At least it’s under the truck where you can’t see it too easy. Curious to hear your opinion on sound.

I’ll report back once I’ve driven on it for a bit. I also have a Borla ProXS muffler prior to doing this.

Did you remove “flapper” as well?

No I left that part on so it tones down on the hwy with light throttle.

2019 Sierra 5.3. I have clamped the flapper open and taped/covered the screens up. I am super happy with the sound and have been asked what exhaust I was running. They are surprised when I tell them it is factory exhaust lol. The only thing I do not like is that you can see the tape through the fender well when standing beside the truck.

I’m surprised on how much more noise it gives. It’s actually slightly too loud for my taste as a daily. I might start removing one on each side closest to the front and see how that goes. It’s definitely louder and more aggressive.

I would imagine it should tone it down a bit the more you remove. I notice a more throaty sound from stock which is just about perfect with the stock muffler.
