Had this one a few times now so I’ll bring it up. Switching to reverse the guide lines are missing, switching out of reverse brings the guide lines up on a white background for a few seconds(with no camera) before going back to the normal screen. Once seeing this, the behavior will repeat until the truck is turned off and restarted. Pretty annoying when I’ve come to rely on these guides to back into my garage. Anyone else have this one?

Did you go to the camera mode and click off trailer mode.

At least on mine, it you have gone in the camera on the Mylink and hit the various modes, if you put it in trailer and forget to take it out it will remove the backup lines.

There are bugs that will cause this regardless.  Workaround is to go to the camera views and turn the lines back on.

My 24 GMC SIERRA DOES THE SAME THING. Than later if I don’t shut it off and go to reverse they are there.

My 2022 refresh has done this on and off since new. Now the lines have been gone for a couple of weeks, and according to the dealer won’t ever return. They are blaming it on my lift kit even though it worked 90% of the time… Is your truck lifted?

Mine start to do this about 2-3 weeks. The dealer try to make an update on my radio and the mechanic was unable to connect his computer to my radio 🙄 on a next appointment and when they receive a new front camera, they will try this. Absolutely not certain that would correct the situation. Sierra 2024 Denali 3.5 inch lift with 38 000km. Exactly the same problem with blue hourglass in the screen.

I have the same issue on 2022 LTZ. Service guy at the dealership says a front camera is on order and then go from there. It’s been in the service for warranty now 3 times to troubleshoot. I’ll update if it corrects

Brand new 24 GMC 1500 (-650 miles) and the guidelines have never worked. The selector for this option is ‘greyed’ out on the reverse camera screen, and I have the blue hourglass in the top-left of the screen.
any ideas on how to get them back on without a trip to the dealership?

You can try one thing yourself, otherwise its got to go back.

Press and hold the end phone call button on your steering wheel for about 20 seconds.  This will reboot the entire infotainment system.  If the camera function does not change, its got to go back .

I tried this and it did not correct the issue. Really sucks to have to deal with this on a 2 week old truck.

$hit happens.  More than likely they will try either to see if there is a software update or diagnose if the camera is faulty or something with the radio.

Can a radio issue cause this malfunction of the rear backup lines?!  Seems odd. I understand that this entire truck is a computer so nothing is beyond by imagination.

Quite a bit of the vehicle is controlled or processed through the radio.  Both with just the regular backup camera and if you have the 360 surround but those also use a video processing module.
