Heater blower resistor 2004 Silverado 1500

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 with a bad heater blower motor resistor. I have tried to order from multiple sources and the part they say it should be does not fit. The circuit board is shaped differently on the one in the truck than what everyone is saying is the replacement part. Anyone else run into this or know what part I need. This isn’t the first parts that don’t match what gm says on this truck either. I’m posting a picture of the one in the truck. a176c20cb2b6b354dd508bdee6dc6a05.jpg

It doesn't matter if the resistor board is shaped differently, so long as it fits and plugs in. That said, it appears to be that yours is a manual climate control, and you're probably finding the replacements for an auto climate control, which are two different parts. There is also different parts for whether you have a center console or not. Make sure to tell them exactly how your truck is setup.

As mentioned, you need to order based on manual or auto/manual climate control. The resistors are different. And yes, the part has been redesigned in most cases. Look it up on rockauto.com
