I have a 2018 Silverado 2500 HD, with just over 20K miles and what appears to be surface rust all over the body.... yes I know rust needs metal to rust, but I have had 3 people look at and we are all stunned at how much it looks like rust pits

It does clean up with some serious elbow grease just wondering if this is an issue?

heading to the dealer next

It’s rail dust (small metallic particle get on your paint and rust). A good clay bar treatment followed by a polish then coating will eliminate and keepnfrom coming back for awhile

It’s not a dealer/mfr issue. You need to take care of your vehicles paint.

Makes me wonder what surface coating/seal I paid the dealer for when purchased?

Snake oil

Even a good coating will develop those. I would get them on my 2010 sheet silver paint usually every 2 years or so after winter
