Put the wires back into the connector, XM in pin 2, other thing in pin 1. Then re wrap the wires with fabric tape. Reinstall the painted cover.

The other thing is onstar/gps/compass.

I just lined up 1 screw to install the GPS antenna.

FYI for anybody that want to take a different approach to solve this. I’ve bought a Fakra K female to Fakra K female extension cord and guided it from the new antenna xm connection to the radio xm connection.
 

If you replaced/upgrade your radio module before you will know what you need to do to access it. Otherwise you can have a look at the HMI/radio upgrade sub forum

 

It worked perfectly and now I have the new type of antenna with xm and and no reception issues

Depend on your vehicle you can probably get a shorter cable but I played it safe with a few extra feet just to be sure
