How do I reset fuel gauge on 2004 h GMC sierra 2500 duamax

what do you mean by this?  The gauge isn't working right, or pegged empty or full, or you want to reset the mpg DIC readout or something else?

My fuel gauge started pointing down when the stepper motor went bad (like 10 years ago).  Pretty common for any of the stepper motors to go bad (often the speedometer).  If so, replace all of them at the same time.
