Things to buy before buying house suggestions

Ok guys I have a list going of things to buy before my house is built (winter/sprng 05). So far its mainly tools like circular saw, air compressor, tool bench, shop vac.

 

What are some other things i should purchase before i am flat broke? I figure if i buy them now i can store them in my grandmas garage until i move in.

Are you buidling the house yourself? If so, here's what I can think of right off the top of my head. Definitely will need more than this though.

 

Table saw for ripping lengthwise. Compound miter saw for all that futzy trim work. A 20 oz. hammer - even with an air nailer a regular hammer is very handy for all sorts of things. Drill & more bits that you think you'll need. Nail sets (for finish work). A belt sander. Sawzall. Router.

No im not building it myself but eventually I will be building a deck and a shed.

Well if you are going to have a sizeable yard, don't forget the yard tools, spreader, aireator, rakes, leaves and metal for spreading gravel, stuff like that. A good lawnmower along with weed eater and leaf blower.

 

A good carpenters square, along with a compound square. Line level, plumb bob, chaulk line. Cordless drill comes in handy for the deck work. I put ours together with all deck screws instead of nails. The craftsman quick change bits work great for simple work. A nice size crowbar, or wreaking bar as some call them. Cat's claw, to get out nails that are flush on the wood. It makes it easy to remove them.

 

Router table is nice to have as well as a set of router bits oh and one for formica, makes trimming it a breeze. Don't forget a good set of safety glasses or goggles. One that fits well so that you will not mind using them. I have had one to many times come close to objects hitting my goggles and could have taken my eye out. Glad to have been wearing them.

 

Preasure washer is handy. If your going to do any tile work, a tile cutter is nice to have and not expensive. Don't forget the paint supplies, A quality paint brush makes a big difference. The wagner power sprayer ROCKS for outside painting, or inside if you don't have much to worry about getting paint on.

oh yea i forgot to add i have a weedwacker on my list. I ma yalready have a lawnmower and im going to rough it for awhile and shovel snow
