2018 Silverado, Trailering Equipment Package Questions

Hey guys,

              I'm new to towing. My truck sticker says I have the "Trailering Equipment Package". Does this include everything I need to tow a camper? Weight wise i'm good. I was just wondering if it included the brake controller and whatever else I need. Thank you,

Do you see a brake controller? It is the top most thing on the dash on left of the steering wheel.

As far as I know the trailer brake controller has always been a standalone option. You'll need what is shown above or if you don't have that, buy an aftermarket brake controller.

If you’re new to towing, please start with something smaller than a camper. 

 

If you cant reverse the trailer into perfect figure eights using only the mirrors on an 8ft Uhual trailer, you shouldn’t be towing a camper straight out the gate. I’m not being demeaning, I’m being a realist. There’s a LOT of stuff that can go downhill fast when towing.
