Cool. I'm curious about how fast it goes? does it stop abruptly if some impatient kid tries to run in front of it? does is slow down gently?

Seems like they still don't trust the shuttles to operate without the aid of human control, either riding in or remotely.

 

 

That’s not the one on campus. I’ll snap a picture of it tomorrow if I can. From what I’ve seen it’s fully autonomous. The only people on board are the passengers/student. Now if someone is observing from a building on campus.. idk. The engineering school is the one that developed the project from the one that is in the link you posted. The one that I’m referring to is different.

Seeing that video of the lidar scan is pretty cool. But this thing only goes 10 kph/ 6 mph. So that is pretty slow to compare to actual driving in traffic. I guess you gotta start somewhere to test it.
