Denali power steps on non Denali models?

I have a '17 SLT and want to put the Denali power steps on my truck, talked to a gm service tech who said there's a module that has to be put in that come in the Denali's and not other models so they're not mound and go/plug and play. Any input on this? Has anyone made the conversion? Looked at the amp steps but I like the chrome looks that the factory denali's have.

Yep. There are 3 wires to land in the engine bay fuse block. Super simple

I think I wanna get the amp steps just because mine doesn’t have much chrome idk what y’all think? My running board kinda look like y’alls expect they don’t move

Think the amp steps will go good with the wheels you have.

I was thinking that aswell, have to see if I can find some used good amp running boards

I like the black of the amps and the fact they tuck up versus just slide back. Can hardly see them.

I find that if you are level or maybe 3” lift, amps come down too low. If your are 4” or higher, Amps might be better.

Yeah I wanna get 22s with 35s and 6in lift so might be considering the amp steps.

Can the bottom of the amp steps be paint to color match? Not the part you have to step on but the underside probably better to powder coat them?!

I don't want to steal this thread but I have a 2017 High Country with the articulated running boards.  Is there a way (that I am not aware of) to turn the running boards off, so when I open the door they do not come out?  There are certain instances where I find this would be useful.  Other than that I really like the articulated running boards.
