Issues with 2019 Trail Boss, looking for assistance/Guidance

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing several issues with my 2019 Custom Trail Boss (5.3 v8) that I picked up back on July 27th of this year.  Currently have only about 3,800 miles on it.

I didn’t every realize any of this was an issue until I just found this forum and noticed tons of other people are experiencing the exact same issues. Am hoping to get some guidance on what dealers can/cannot help with and if there's actually been any remedies to these problems.

Problems:

- Checked my brake life status and at only 3800 miles my brake life is reading at 22%...there is no way that is accurate and if it is that is very scary.

-Within the first 2-5 minutes of driving it feels like it is misfiring when accelerating for about a mile or 2. Happens in all weather conditions (40-90 degrees outside) and happens after it has been sitting for an extended period of time and doesn’t matter if I start and drive or let it warm up before leaving. The only thing I can compare it to is my first car I owned that did have problems with misfiring.

-Sometimes as well when I’m sitting at a stop light, it feels like it idles rough

-Experiencing a hard shift or hesitation of the engine when you first hit the gas. For example, I start the truck, reverse out of the driveway, put the car in drive and when I hit the gas, the truck goes toward and then i feel the truck completely stop for a second (hesitation) and then it continues forward, does this when turning as well and is especially bad in round-a-bouts.

-Radio/touch screen blacking out and not connecting to blue tooth device. Happens quite frequently when I put the truck in reverse and then has happened twice just driving down the road.

-Tailgate doesn't drop on it's own when using keyfob button or button inside the cab.

The closest dealership to me is 45 mins away so I wanted to get some thoughts/experiences before I make the drive out there only to be told they can't do anything about it.

There were a number of recalls on these trucks earlier this year. Have you been back to the dealership or received any notifications since you purchased it? They are working on an update for the brake pad life

Return the truck for service and don't pick it up until every problem is repaired or addressed, none of this is "normal". No one should have that many problems so soon on a brand new vehicle.

Service bulletin with a reprogram to fix this.  Pads are not worn out.

This one sounds like a trip to the dealer.

Normal most likely.  Big V8 under the hood so you may feel it.

Not sure on this one.  Trip to the dealer for sure.  Test drive another truck to compare it as well same type of truck.

-Radio/touch screen blacking out and not connecting to blue tooth device. Happens quite frequently when I put the truck in reverse and then has happened twice just driving down the road.

Have you done any over the air updates?  Not sure if the Custom TB radio can do it but there have been a few updates that the truck itself can do for radio issues.

-Tailgate doesn't drop on it's own when using keyfob button or button inside the cab.

Does it do this on flat ground or only if the truck is on a downward incline?  Do you have a tonneau?  Does the gate actually open?

Hi there.  I haven’t experienced the other issues you had but did have the brake pad life issue.  I haven’t brought mine in yet but it appears to be a bad sensor in the pads. Quick Google search seems to confirm this. If it bugs you, you can always disable it in the info screen.  I did. I’ll ask the service advisor about it at my next service .  Seems like you should go sooner though with all the other issues you are having.
