Re gearing 2019 Chevy

Hi all,

First time poster here.

I am looking to put 35" tires on my new chevy,  but it has 3.23 gears.  I do not know too much about these gear ratios, but I do know that my 89 chevy is running 4.10s w/ 35" tires.  Can anybody answer me if I need to regear w/ 35s, or with 33s?  I dont want to sacrifice performance for looks, as my trucks get used like trucks.

Thanks,

Dean

You are working with a lot more gears in the transmission in your 2019 compared to your 1989.  I bet it would be fine but your speedo will be off without a tune.

I lost virtually no power when I went to my 35s. But I also made sure I went with a lighter tire and rim combo

That is interesting and helps a lot.  I really did not want to spend another $2k+ for regearing, but according to logan id just be reallocating that money to tune haha.

Well you can now... you can tune these trucks finally.  Just add another 2 grand to your budget to have it tuned after the swap lol.

When did the 2019's become able to be tuned?  By who?  HP Tuners still isn't showing that the 2019's can be tuned.

As of yesterday they do.

So it would be whatever gear change costs plus $1900 to tune it, plus $300 to get the MPVI2 to do it. So maybe $4500???????

Pocket change.
