Title says it all. I've got a '15 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 and for some time now my exhaust smells real rich like I'm not burning fuel properly. Has anyone else run into this? Is there anything I can check or do to make sure it's running right and isn't causing further issues before taking it to the dealer? This engine had work done earlier in the year to have a lifter fixed but I've only noticed this in recent months.

I have 90k miles so if there's an engine issue I want it corrected before my warranty is out but at the same time I don't want to pay the dealer diagnostic pricing for them to tell me it's not covered.  Thoughts?

It runs rich on warm up. But should lean out after that. Build up, bad cats, back o2 are the reasons this can happen.

Slow1500 has it right but I would target upstream o2 not down. If the trucks cold don't worry, if it's at operating temp and stinks then maybe somethings up.

I have the exact same issue with my 15 suburban

90k miles

stock

did new plugs, new evap can

all new oem 02 sensors.

Nothing still smells rich at Cold AND Warmed up starts.

I have no codes but the trucks smells at any startup.

I was in a parking lot and another stock looking similar aged silverado smelled exactly the same way

I would thing more people would have this issue

its so bad we make sure to never idle it in close_ish areas and always run ac recycled

please help because other that that I love our suburban

thanks
