If it is anything like the 1500s architecture,  you cant add anything that didn't come factory.

 

My buddy got a 1500 without a trailer brake controller and you can't add the OEM one unless it was installed when built.  I know the other brands will support adding it with a software change that the dealer can do once plugged in.

 

Seems like a good way to make money after the fact but I'm not in that business so who knows the reason.
