New Sierra ticking

My 16 did it and so does my 19. that noise is normal. Dealer is going to tell you the same thing. 

In the 14-18 forums there were TONS of topics on this same noise.

Even though i have a 2014 it is essentially the same engine in the 19 and 20's. These di engines are best described as sounding like a box of rocks imo. They have had issues with lifters in these engines but i guess it is a much louder type of tick or knock. I don't know but like anyone else i kind of cringe when i hear it at a drive thru or next to a wall. I wonder if vettes and camaros make the same racket, hard to tell because they actually have exhaust's that have tone and sound unlike us with trucks.

I have a 2020 SLT with 20,000 miles on it, took it to dealership for the same ticking noise, they said it was totally normal on the newer models, something with the fuel injectors.

High pressure fuel pump. It sits in the valley at the rear. Normal
