Can driving in 4WD auto on dry roads damage my truck?

I run mine in 4A when it rains here in DFW. It’s great peace of mind to know I won’t slip around under acceleration.

When it dries up again, I put it back in 2H.

Goodyear Trailrunner ATs. One of the stock Z71 tires for the GM trucks.

Same here, when it's raining like crazy, winds gusting, I turn it on going over the buckman :)

I have had new Silverados in 2008, 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019. I ran them all in auto 100% of the time and only switched out of auto when I moved to Georgia with the 2017 because it never snows here. I noticed a fuel economy improvement and maybe noticed that it was a bit quicker. I probably put on 10-15k miles per year..
