Randomly this message has started appearing.

2o15 chevy 1500 z71 Lt. 90k miles.

Happened once a couple weeks ago. Then it happened yesterday morning a couple times. Then it just happened 10 minutes ago.

All while not even towing?

Ideas.

Could be a loose connection or dirty connector out back. I had the same symptoms as you but began a year earlier and turned out to be the Solid State Relay (SSR). If you have an advanced scan tool, you can read the code that will tell you what failed and why. This code will be stored in the chassis modules, not engine or body.

Following this issue. Mine has been on for 6 months. Error code was for a speed sensor on rear wheel which I replaced. However this did not fix the issue.

Need help as my ABS light has now come on and as a result is turn off.

My 2014 Silverado z71 ltz same issue the Trailer Brake went berserk It wouldn’t stop ringing...GM had to replace 2 modules apparently there are 2 and they weren’t communicating in my vehicle...It took 4 return trips to GM service for them to figure it out but,look it up the Trailer Brake System is running amuck in Chevys and they know it....BIG Problemo.

Btw...GM had my truck for 11 days they couldn’t fix it....Enterprise gave me a Ram2500 to use while they were trying to remedy the Trailer Brake....Nice truck!!!

68,8xx miles on my truck. 2015, 4x4, LT, CCSB.

Never had any sort of issue like this. Parked my truck on Sunday at the airport. Monday night through Wednesday morning (while I was out of town), we got a couple of waves of precipitation that resulted in almost a half inch of ice accumulated on the truck.

flew home on Wednesday night. Parking company took over 20 minutes to get my truck because of all the ice. Driving home, this warning kept going off anywhere from once every three seconds to once every few minutes.

Any thoughts on this? What are the chances that it will self-resolve as any residual ice melts off?

Mine was intermittent at first, also likely because of moisture, and would stay off a while and then more frequently regardless. Turned out to be SSR. You need a good scan tool to see which code is being thrown and why. Check connections for dist, dirt, corrosion but will probably need something replaced. It all started when I crossed that stream in the swamp...

Thanks. I'll see what I might be able to discover via scan tool and go from there. This is a daily driver, doesn't see much towing, and doesn't go off road (except across the front lawn.. lol). Nothing has ever been submerged, and I'm even careful about not backing into snowbanks (although the valet parking has put the rear bumper into a snowbank before).

When you say SSR, are you referring to one of the controllers mentioned in this thread? If so, which one?

Mine is completely random. In the past 2 days I've done two trips, 2hrs total round trip. Both times, I have shut the truck off for a bit once I reached my destination and had very minimal service alarms. But on the way there it beeped just randomly.

Today, I drove for 2.5hrs straight pretty much with not one single beep.

SSR = Solid State Relay. There are three specific components; the TBCM, the SSR and the controller.

If you get hold of a good scan tool, you can read the stored trouble and symptom code in the Chassis Module. The ABS is part of this so you'd need something that can read ABS codes probably. I have an older truck with different access.

On another forum, one of the guys got the VXDIAG NANO with GMs GDS2 software to work on a tablet so he can see everything GM technicians see on his 2012 and 2018 trucks.

I have had this happen as well always when not towing. Dealer said they couldn’t find anything.

Yeah, I know it's been a while but the error had gone away. About a week ago, we got a lot of rain and the error came back. Then, as quick as it reappeared, it stopped again.

The weather was nice and had the time today to drop the spare tire and check the controller module - connections were dry, clean, and zero corrosion. I did -not- pull the module that's stacked above it... Should I?

Where on the truck is the SSR located? Is that the upper module or is it somewhere else? Given the low cost of various parts, I'm considering swapping the SSR and seeing what happens and go from there... But, where is it?
