Susan Green Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Just bought 2nd hand 2016 Silverado. Mylink will not sync with Android Auto. Was told that because of shortages, some models do not have that capability and it can not be upgraded. Any body have any ideas on how to fix this? Want to be able to display maps.
sk Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 That is true. If you don't have a later-build one you need to update the HMI module from 2.0 to 2.5. There are tons of threads and 2 different members on here who can help you out with the programming and hardware (GTPprix and th3magpi3).

Welcome to the site. Above post is dead on, easy way to check to see what you have is look in the glovebox at your RPO code sticker. IO5, you do not have the capability for sure, IO6 you might, you would have factory nav, and you will have the option in your settings menu in the unit.
