fuel tank size?

what is GM's thinking not having a 36 gallon fuel tank in every model of the 2020 , 2500 and 3500's.

Didn't know they offered anything but 36 gal. tank! In 2500 and  3500. 

My LT gas 2500 is 36 gal.

Presumably it's packaging.  previous generation only had one tank available.

Moving the DEF tank to appease the whiners is likely the reason.  On several cab/box versions the diesel gets a smaller tank but the gasser always gets the 36.

 

For diesel:

Crew cab are all 36.

Double cab longs are 36

Double cab standard bed 29

reg cab (they're all long/8 ft) 28

 

3500 CC trucks have a 23 and a 40.  Order either or both. (Both will be standard, currently says ''late availability')
