2000k 3500 transfer case fluid

Hey guys, looks like the manual says dexron III. Anyone know of the amsoil version or if I can run dexron IV?

Amsoil looks like this:

Looking to do the transfer case and drop the pan on the transmission and do a filter and fluid. Also got an energy suspension transfercase/transmission mount/bushing to install.

Yes from the look up guide it shows that you need to run AMSOIL's ATF  not the ATL.    The new squeeze packs really make it a breeze to change out the fluid.

You don't want to use a DexVI fluid in either your transmission or your transfer case, as it is known to cause problems with the seals, so they wind up leaking, even though it's supposed to be backwards compatible.

Thanks for the confirmation! I assume that would work in my transmission too

You can use it in the transmission.  I switched my 2002 silverado over to the ATL which is the dexron VI fluid back at 140k miles.  No issues and it currently has 194k and I tow a 4klbs trailer once a month  up and down I-40.  I just had a used oil analysis done on my transmission fluid with it having 100k miles on the fluid and it came back just fine.

Interesting, so you use the ATL. I would be using the ATF in both my transmission and transfer case.

This truck is used to pull my enclosed from time to time, plow, and bomb around town. Now that I have the speed sensor working correctly it drives great. Sure runs nice. Needs some odds and ends fixed, its a 2000 so..... lol

Thanks for confirmation!

No problem.  Sounds like you have a good work horse. :)
