Well, she’s all back together. Runs like a top! Actually accelerated and decelerates better. More pick up. The deceleration isn’t like and engine brake now. Overall runs good. Started on the first try.

I also noted the fuel pump much more quiet during idle (standing outside of the truck).

I took it for a spin obviously. I’ll be curious to see it’s mpgs now and I need to warm start it to see if that issue is fixed now as well. 6 hour job taking my time. The plug bolts gave me grief getting off. e21c43835de185da8929788c522f6ef4.jpg

Just an update: Haven't pulled anything heavy since. Might this weekend. But might take the 2004.

Hot start issue remains, again betting injectors. Otherwise its running fantastic! Got 13.8mpg one tank all highway. Rest has been average. Really needed a tune up.

I dont know whether you still have this problem or not, but I had an almost identical issue on my Ford Ranger. Although theyre 2 completely different animals, what fixed it for me was replacing the MAF (MAP in your case). It also shot my MPGS from around 11 to a whopping 14.. (Ah, gotta love a 4.0 on big tires). Anyways, hope this helps out!

Hey, I never got a notification of this response. It's been awhile, but things are better. I did end up replacing the MAP sensor when I had the intake plenum off. I am looking at injectors now to fix the hot start issue. The plenum will have to come off again, but it's really not that hard. I've never done injectors before, but it looks mostly straight forward.

I also redid the entire AC unit, compressor, condenser, dryer, and upper AC hose. Works like a dream.

I also had to replace the radiator.. it was cracked internally.
