Lost memory

I noticed that when I hit the memory switch on the door, nothing happens. I purposely moved the mirrors, then hit, not set the memory switch, nothing happened. Any ideas?

Are you just tapping it, or holding it down?

The early models you just basically pushed it and it worked, think 16 on, you have to hold it through the whole cycle.

Tried tapping, and holding...

The memory for the seats still works when I shut the truck down, or start it up.

Guess I am not following you, when does it not work?

What are you attempting to do? Are you talking about the "easy exit" feature?

No, my son drove the truck, he moved the mirrors. When I got in to drive, I hit the memory 1 button, nothing. So, I set the mirrors to how I wanted them, set the memory. Then I moved the mirrors, and then hit memory 1 again, they did not move.

Did you try pushing the set and 1 button at the same time till you heard a beep?

Might just need to reset it.

I reset the memory 1, then moved the the mirror. I then pushed and held button 1 (as I always do), the mirror did not move at all

Have you checked the setting in the radio/vehicle settings to make sure the feature is still enabled?

I had to smile.   If you're talking about a teen son then he may have an explanation.  Now that my sons are in their 40's, some of the unsolved mysteries that impacted our house and vehicles 20+ years ago have come to light. ?

No one yet?

Original battery?

If so, might be failing and you are getting the electrical gremlins.

Just replaced original one about a month ago..

Did the problem start before or after the battery change?

If it happened after, I would disconnect it for 30 minutes, and then hook it back up and see if that works.

Not sure to tell the truth. I'll disconnect, and see what happens...

Next logical step would be the power seat module which I believe would control the function that is not working.

It is tied to the memory button.
