2017 unit bearing?

Not sure why you would need that tool, as the cv axle shouldn't be that hard to remove from the hub (and that's all that tool helps with).  But, when reassembling, I would suggest smearing some anti-seize on the splines to make disassembling later much easier...

This is a safer way to push the cv out, or get it to break free.  I have had the cv axle seize in the bearing in the past  - Rust belt life!

Everything gets a douching of anti-seize upon re-assembly.

So this too will work?

It probably will.  When I had to get the cv axles out of the hubs for an '06 sierra, I made one using a strip of 3/16" x 1" flat steel, with 3 holes.  2 holes to go over studs to hold it in place, and one in the center for some threaded rod and a nut to push the cv axle out.

The bolt pattern is the same and the axles are similar so I would imagine it should work fine. The bearings themselves are only slightly different mainly the abs harness.
