XM or Sirius

I'm looking at getting this for the truck. There are not to many options for the XM although what is out there is pretty cool since you can take it from vehicle to vehicle as well as in the house and out and about in a boom box style setup.

I was just wondering what the big difference is between the two.

Thanks

Most folks here (including myself) have XM radio if they have satellite service. Everyone I've heard from (and me) loves the XM platform and its definitely the most popular. There are a few Sirius folks on the board and at least one person that has had both and feels Sirius has better quality. I'd love to hear Sirius to make a comparison.

I don't know how many subscribers Sirius has, but XM just passed the 1 million mark. This may turn into another classic Beta vs. VHS scene, but I'd be leary of getting Sirius in case they go under.

Does anyone know if either Sirius or XM have turned a profit yet?

Sirius posted a loss of $106.7 million, or 11 cents a share, versus a loss of $119.7 million, or $1.56 a share, in the year-ago quarter. Its shares outstanding increased to 998.2 million in the 2003 quarter from 76.9 million a year earlier.

FM was nothing but car dealer ads, not any more 100% good music

Thats why I got satellite. I got so sick of hearing car commercials! That and in the morning I could never find a station playing any music. Same thing after work. Never any good music on. All fricking talk. I even took off my FM antenna!!

Well since we got our vehicles with XM Radio my wife and I never listen to anything else, with the exception of NFL Football Games when we are traveling.

Our Tahoe has a 6 disk cd player we played the OnStar CD to learn how to use OnStar and that has been it. Everything else in XM Radio.
