tpms problems

Ok, here's the scoop.  I bought a 2008 silverado 2500HD with a duramax.  When I got it had flashing tpms program in dash.  Looked as though the tires had been rotated so went in and reprogrammed tire locations (key to on, press both lock and unlock on remote, lower lf tire press, honk, rf tire press, honk, rr tire press, honk, lr tire press, honk honk, key to off, raise tire pressures, (60+ in front, 80+ in back)) everything seemed to reprogram ok but light stayed on. Drove truck, no change.  Pulled positive off both batteries, no change.  Went to Discount tire and had them check TPMS sensors.  All are good.  Went to local mechanic and plugged into OBD and computer reads all 4 sensors with proper pressures, light is ordered on.  Cannot reset.  Anybody got an idea of why this will not reset?  Thanks in advance!

Maybe too much air in the tires.

We used to lower the threshold on those all the time for people who didn't regularly tow, so it rode better
