Baja Designs S2 - Backup light install

Don't know why I waited so long to install these. It's so much easier to see backing up now.

Not a lot of options for install locations without fabricating some sort of bracket so I installed them directly underneath the footsteps, and wired them into the 7-pin trailer harness.

I chose to go with the S2 sports over the PRO so I could have them come on in reverse.

(PRO's would be to bright)

1. These are made by Baja designs they are the S2 sports. They make a pro version that have twice as many lumens however these would only be good for off-road use.

I wanted something that:

1. Could use all the time, without blinding drivers.
- 42 degree horizontal spread
- Very narrow vertical spread, similar to SAE fog lights

2. Did not require me to cut holes in my bumper

3. Gave me just a little bit more lighting when backing up with my dump trailer.

4. They make interchangeable lenses thus I can change the pattern or color for around $12

I went with the Amber, Wide beam pattern for three reasons

- A bit less harsh on the eyes for anyone that might be behind me in a parking lot. This was important to me because I have these hardwired into the reverse.

- they provide better illumination in the dark especially when it's wet

- a buddy of mine has he's with clear lenses and they are bright enough that they wash out the rear camera's view ca0e6316f029343dffbc91580b034563.jpg

How did you wire them up?

You can use the frame as your ground so all I had to do was t-tapp the 7-pin trailer connector the center wire is reverse

Perfect! Thank you. Thought about it. I have Bd front facing and side facing (ditch lights) on my A pillar. Want to do the reverse also but kinda on the fence about it. Since my LED reverse and cargo light (hooked up together for reverse) are pretty bright already. [emoji482]
