Bike Rack with Tonneau

Recommended Posts

I am working on a solution for hauling bikes with my tonneau.  A hitch mount rack won't work because I am usually towing a trailer.  I have a Extang Encore Tonneau cover so an Adarac isn't compatible.  I was wondering anyone has done a roof mounted bike rack on their truck?

Also, has anyone found a stake pocket tiedown option for the rear stake pocket?  I can't find any that fit other than the ones for $140.

Could you fabricate something like this?

How do you keep your bikes from swaying from side to side? I like the idea and would like to use it for the same reason, hauling a travel trailer.

BTW,  these are not my setups.   I just googled it and looked at images -

Here is my take on the tank mount. I used emt conduit mount that I had laying around.

I cut 2 45 degree cuts through the sides, but not the back with my circular saw and bent it into a 90.

I then welded it. I then cut them to equal height and but then on the truck. Marked the spacing on the cross bar and removed to weld.

Painted the whole thing. Now I just need to get my fork mounts. It attaches through the stake pocket with 2 3/8 toggle bolts on each side. 24216a77da4a18df757f192ed5fc7f2c.jpg

Is there another mount to hold the front wheels separately so you don't have to store them in the bed of the truck?
