Does anyone know what these mean or where I could find out what they mean?

I was remote programming the 2-Way Advanced Remote Start GM Accessory to my truck and it failed twice.

I've never used a Tech 2, and I've never seen that  failure mentioned on any online forums or auto diagnostics subscriptions on YouTube either.

Best thing to do would be to contact Vetronix, or Bosch and see if they have an answer. They're probably the only ones that would know what all of that means. Maybe first try leaving a comment on "New Level Auto" on YouTube, his latest video - Keith DeFazio is the best in the business that I know of. He might have an answer, but YouTube comments sometimes get missed. Worth a shot, though.

Are you using a legit Tech2, a clone, or VXdiag?

It's a Tech-2 and probably a Vetronix clone.  I have successfully programmed modules with it before.

It’s because your VIN doesn’t have that added to it.

GM techline is who you need to contact

Thanks.  Called in last week and they said that either the battery was low or the part number was wrong.  The guy hung up on me when asked about part numbers.  My battery was a little low but still strong enough to light off the engine.  We'll try it again once it stops raining and call if that doesn't work and make sure this box has the right parts in it.

They added the RPO accessory to your vin correct?

They didn't do anything over the phone.  A few months ago I added the shock and tilt sensors and the engineers made a custom part number so it would work with my truck.  Apparently, even though it was offered, it had never been added to my configuration before.  They didn't say anything about the 2-Way ARS, just supposed to be a simple programming with yellow label of RCDLR which was already listed.

GM Techline has to add the appropriate calibrations to the vehicle.  If you found a brand new in box 2 way kit, there is an authorization code on a sticker on a sheet of paper in the box.  You need that code, and the code has to be given to Techline to authorize the programming.

There is also four versions of the two way kit.  There is one kit for trucks that have RPO code AP8 which is keyless entry with remote start prep, and then there is a kit for AP3 which is keyless entry with factory remote start.  For both of those styles, there is then further #s for power liftgate or not.

AP8 without power gate:  19244150

AP3 without power gate:  19244151

AP8 with power gate:  19244152

AP3 with power gate:  19244153

So if you are starting out with the wrong kit, that will be a problem as well.

I thought so too.  This kit did not come with the activation code on the sticker like the accessories did.  The instructions do not reference it either, just to download the yellow label RCDLR programming.

The regular Techline people won't talk to me without a dealer number.  So I have to call another number and they do not do VCI codes over there.  I have the older version of the 2nd option, 19244151 which is 19156555.  These part numbers and the part numbers of the parts inside were used on other vehicles, like the Acadia.  Appreciate the help.

Geeze Louise! NOTHING should be this complicated. Kudos to you for your patience. I probably would've set fire to the truck dealing with all this b/s!!

Love how GM makes things so easy for their customers ...?

Gotcha so you have the AP3 kit.  No need for any programming other than the new RCDLR.

However...Do you have access to GM SPS programming?  Or are you just trying the "programming" in the Tech2?

Special Tools

  • Scan Tool with capability of communication on GMLAN
  • Service Programming System (SPS – TIS2WEB, or equivalent)
  • J-46079 Tire Pressure Monitoring Diagnostic Tool, if the vehicle is equipped with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Surface Cleaner (50 percent isopropyl alcohol, FS-1082 hi-flash naphtha or equivalent)
  • Glass Primer and Adhesion Promoter GM P/N 12378555 (Canadian P/N 88901239)

The 2-Way RCDLR will not work until it is programmed. Using the Scan Tool and SPS terminal, program the 2-Way RCDLR. Select the controller “RCDLR Remote Control Door Lock Receiver 2 Way - with Yellow Label”. Select the options that the VIN is equipped with. After the 2-Way RCDLR is programmed, if the vehicle is equipped with TPMS, perform the Paste TPM Information procedure or perform the tire type and pressure setup and sensor learn procedure. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Programming and Setup.

I was attempting the SPS programming through ACDelco's TDS system, I have a subscription.  Same instructions as you posted.

Update!

We went ahead and attempted to do this again since the weather cooled.  Still had issues but after 30 minutes consulting with the engineers the solution was simple.  Use the Tech-2 as a pass thru and program as normal for the RCDLR with yellow label.  So we brought the laptop out beside the truck and everything eventually worked as it should.

    • I’m definitely interested to hear the end result here.
    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Years later, your thread is still helping Silverado owners.   I bought my 2025 Silverado 1500 in January 2025, and I've had what feels like the exact same rattle since day one. After reading your findings, I believe my truck has the same issue with the cable carrier contacting the rear sliding window. To be honest, I had pretty much given up on pursuing the issue. It wasn't until I recently drove another brand's pickup that I realized just how quiet their cabin was—and how noisy mine has been all along. On my truck, the rattle happens on almost any paved road, gets even worse on rougher pavement, and I can even hear it during braking and acceleration.   I actually referenced your thread when submitting my case to GM, hoping they'll recognize this as a recurring issue instead of treating it as an isolated incident. The reason I reached out to GM first is because my dealership told me they would need to keep the truck for at least two days just to diagnose the problem. I was concerned that even after two days, they still might not be able to identify the source of the rattle before giving the truck back to me. I had also asked a few dealerships about this issue during previous service visits, but none of them seemed to know what was causing it or had a solution. That's why I decided to contact GM directly first, hoping they might already have an official repair procedure or guidance for this issue.   I also hope GM eventually comes up with an official fix for this problem. I have a feeling there are many Silverado owners experiencing the same rattle, but most either choose to live with it or simply don't know what the cause is.   Really appreciate you taking the time to document your diagnosis. Your post is still making a difference years later.
