My truck is only a year old.   Battery is reading about 12.  Would it be covered under warranty?   Is this considered normal?

My 2017 went bad about one month ago (just about 3 years of use and only 22,000 miles). Got it towed and had the battery replaced, both for free under warranty. The battery was 100% dead though, not just weak.

If you have very short commutes and or do not drive very often, the battery does not have time to get re-charged.  This is especially true if you leave stuff plugged in and running.  Get a battery tender and leave it hooked up while the truck is sitting.  It will get the crud off the plates and keep it charged.  I restored a 4 year old battery ACDelco Silver with a 30 month warranty to like new, even after accidentally draining it to below 8 volts with one.
