4.3 Carb swap

Not sure if this has been covered before. I have a 1995 c1500, 4.3 Vortec. I want to put a carb on it. I've been doing a little searching around, and i've discovered a few things. Seems it'll mess with the transmission in autos-not a problem here, 5 speed on the floor.  I've heard it messes with the fuel pump as well, guys were saying that i'll need one with less pressure than stock. I'd like to do it right, not a jerry-rig or anything like that. Anybody have any ideas or links to parts? Thanks to everybody, any info will help!

Most carbs run on less than 10psi of fuel pressure so the factory pump would be too powerful. If you installed a regulator right before the fuel rail, that would be just fine.
